Junior Division

HIMA’s Junior Division is intended for violin, viola and cello students aged 8 - 12. Students have a daily schedule from 9 am - 3 pm. Ideally, students should have completed the Icelandic “grunnpróf” or a similar exam.

Participants will receive and have access to:

Four private lessons (20 - 30 min)
Daily group technique class
String ensemble
Social activity
Lunch with other students and faculty
Perform solo and with their ensemble in a concert

Applicants should send a recording of a piece of their own choice, about 3 - 4 minutes. Please upload the recording to a streaming service such as YouTube and include the link in your application. Recordings sent as email attachments are not accepted. Please submit your recording by the application deadline, March 1st.
