JUNIOR DIVISION
June 16-21, 2026

Age 8-12 years

HIMA’s Junior Division is intended for violin, viola and cello students aged 8 - 12.  Students have a daily schedule from 9 am - 3 pm. Ideally, students should have completed the Icelandic “grunnpróf” or a similar exam. 

Participants will receive and have access to:

  • Daily private lessons (20 min)

  • Daily group technique class

  • String ensemble

  • Social activity

  • Lunch with other students and faculty

  • Perform solo and with their ensemble in a concert

HIMA concludeswith a concert in Harpa’s Eldborg Hall.

Applicants should send a recording of a piece of their own choice, about 3 - 4 minutes. Please upload the recording to a streaming service such as YouTube and include the link in your application. Recordings sent as email attachments are not accepted. Please submit your recording by the application deadline, March 10th.
