Violinist Diana Adamyan from Armenia is one of the Academy’s Young Artists 2019. At the age of 18, she won the prestigious first prize in the 2018 Menuhin violin competition. In the recital in Harpa she will perform works for violin and piano along with British born pianist Richard Simm, who since settling in Iceland in 1989, has worked with many of the country’s foremost musicians. The duo performs violin sonatas by Saint-Saëns and Beethoven where the listener will get well acquainted with the artistry of the young soloist. To top the program with virtuosic flare and intensity, the duo also plays works by Bazzini, Kreisler, Komitas and Katchaturian.
